Planning a Safari in South Africa can be a daunting task, with so many factors to consider such as ideal location, budget, and type of plains game or big game you would like to experience on your Safari adventure.

Packages simplify the process by bundling everything you need for a memorable Safari into a single easily understood unit.

In this guide, we explore the different types of packages that we as Hunting Outfitters can provide, as well as a few tips for choosing the perfect safari experience.

What is included in the cost of our Hunting Safaris?

Plains Game hunting packages include all day fees for the duration of the hunt (see hunt details, normally 7 hunting days), as well as accommodation in one of our excellent camps or hunting Lodge. These Africa hunt packages also include delicious meals, soft drinks and limited beer and wine, for a fantastic hunting experience.

When buying a South African Safari hunting package we also include the services of a Professional guide, all skinning and preparation of your trophies, licenses and the transportation of your trophies from the hunting area to the local taxidermists.

Road transportation to and from Johannesburg International Airport is included in our hunts at no extra cost. These prices are total hunt cost but do not include gratuities to camp staff or items of a personal nature and any additional hard liquor that you may require.

Not included in our Hunting Combinations

Our hunting packages do not include your air fare, any items of a personal nature or any gratuities or tips that you may wish to give out to staff members after the hunt.

Packages also do not include Safari Insurance or any CITES permits that you may require to import certain trophies into your home country.

Any taxidermy fees or work that you would like to have done after your hunt is also not included in our packages. Any additional animals that you would like to hunt during your African Safari will be charged for separately. All of the above mentioned items are for the hunters own account. Prices do not include VAT as required by the South Africa government.

The 2025 season starts on the 23rd March and continues through to October 23rd. While we are open to hunt the whole year round, these are the prime times for an African hunting trip. The prices below are for reservations made before 1st of December.

Unless otherwise stated all prices are per person/hunter per package.

While it is possible to share the plains game animals in the package with another person/hunter, the additional hunters day fees are not included in the price. That person will pay day fees dependent on hunting 2 X 1 or 1 X 1.

Definitions:

2 X 1 means that 2 clients share and hunt with 1 guide.

1 X 1 means that 1 hunter is guided by their own Professional guide and does not share.

South Africa offers a diverse range of plains game and dangerous game hunting packages for both experienced and novice hunters. From trophy hunts for plains game species to challenging Cape Buffalo adventures (for the experienced hunter) and bow hunting, there is something for everyone. This will guide you through picking the top packages available in South Africa.

Plains Species that can be added to any Combination

Please see our full price list for for all the additional species that can be added to a package. These include: Trophy Kudu, Nyala trophy, Impala, Mountain Reedbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Black Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Zebra, Gemsbok and Common or Grey Duiker among many more. Not all of the available species are abundant in all areas.

Depending on the time limits and logistics constraints of your Safari, it may or may not be possible to visit the areas where these species are abundant. We encourage most clients to take the opportunities that present themselves should a good trophy of a species that is not in you package come along. You never can say if you will ever see a big Kudu like that again. We have had clients pass on trophy animals, and come back for subsequent Safari but never see animals with such good trophy quality like that again.

Expert Guidance

The professional guides that accompany our hunts also contribute to your success and the entire experience. Their knowledge of the areas and expertise in techniques ensure a higher success rate on your safari. Our guides are also able to asses and judge the trophy quality of the game being hunted. This guidance can be particularly valuable for newer clients or those unfamiliar with the specific game being targeted.

Side Trips

South Africa has some of best National parks on the continent. While you are in the country a visit to The Kruger National Park, Pilanesberg or Addo Elephant Park would make an excellent side trip. Other excursions worth considering are the Cape winelands, Cape Town and Durban, all iconic places to visit while you are in country.
